How This Accidentally Became a Book

3 September 2026 2 min read

I know my first book probably won't be a blockbuster. And strangely... I'm okay with that. Because somewhere along the way, this book became about something much more important than how many copies it sells. It was never supposed to be a book anyway.

It actually started as... a journal. Little things Kiki did. Funny words she said. Tiny moments from ordinary days I didn't want to forget. Nothing meant for a book. Just a dad... trying to remember.

Then the journal became... notes. Why is she suddenly doing this? Is this normal? Why does a toddler behave like THAT? 😅 So I started reading. Researching. Understanding. I wasn't trying to become a parenting expert. I was simply trying to understand my daughter.

And then came the thought that changed everything. I'm not the only one living this. Somewhere, another parent is laughing. Negotiating with a two-year-old. Wondering if something is normal. Watching ordinary days disappear far too quickly. We all live these stories. I just happened to write mine down. Maybe this isn't only our story.

So I thought... why leave it sitting in my notes? Why not put a beautiful cover around these little moments... and send them out into the world? Maybe someone will laugh. Maybe someone will relate. Maybe one exhausted parent will think— "Oh good. It's not just us." And if this little book can do that... that's already enough for me.

What started as... a dad's little journal is now about to become MY FIRST BOOK.

A note from Arjun

Of course, I want my first book to do well.

Which first-time author doesn’t? 😄

But I also know that years from now, the number of copies it sold probably won’t be the first thing I remember.

I’ll remember why I wrote it.

And somehow, that already makes this book special to me. ❤️

Thank you for reading. ♡
